Is the Hoover U5140-900 Tempo Widepath Upright Vacuum any good?

To me the days of spending over $100 on a vacuum are over. I needed something simple, economical, durable, and reliable. The Hoover Tempo Widepath is just that vacuum.

My Hoover U5140-900 Tempo Widepath has been such a good buy, because I get Hoover brand quality build material, all the functionality you could possibly want from a vacuum cleaner, and all for less than $75 (at the time of writing) which is fantastic value.

For about 75 dollars you receive a no frills, super easy to operate, top selling Hoover Tempo Widepath that is one of the most powerful vacuums, if not the most powerful vacuum in this price range. People wouldn't keep buying the U5140 model vacuum cleaner if it was unreliable or ineffective, especially after all these years (it was first released in 2006).

There are a substantial number of positive reviews on Amazon.com - over 2,300 at the moment, and the average of all of them is over 4 stars! In fact, most of the reviewers have given it 4 or 5 stars which proves that this economical vacuum is a reliable purchase. There are countless reviewers that have owned the same model U514-900 since it first came out and they all say it is still going strong.

It's also important to note that a majority of the negative reviews come from the first release of this model many years ago, and most of those issues were regarding noise. Hoover has taken the concerns of their customers into consideration and upgraded this model under the same model number to eliminate noise issues and other minor problems that existed when this model was originally released.

For your money the Hoover U5140-900 gives you a wider cleaning path (15 inches) than most $75 vacuums to help you get more cleaning done and quicker; it also filters the air in the room at the same time with its allergen filtration system to help trap dust mites and pollen giving you a fresh breathing experience. You'll get a dusting brush, furniture nozzle, crevice tool, and two extension wands to enable you to get to where you need it. This is more than enough to get a good cleaning done. It is lightweight and powerful too. It would cost almost $50 in new bags with other comparable brands, and for $25 more you could have an entirely new vaccum.
